The fifth single “Free” from Streets To Ourselves upcoming sophomore album “The Truth Between Us” will be released on October 4th, 2024. The single was produced by Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, Between You & Me, Intervals, Bearings) and mastered by Mike Kalajian (All Time Low, Neck Deep, Hot Mulligan, New Found Glory). The music video for “Free” was directed by Daniel Peachy, and filmed by CT Media.
Vocalist and Guitarist Daniel Peachy has this to say about the song, “Free was written about the Freedom Convoy occupation that took place a few years ago in Canada, and as a Canadian I felt very strongly in opposition to that movement. However, I was also touching on what happened in America on January 6th as I think both events have many parallels. Although the lyrics were written back in 2022, I believe they are just as relevant today.
“I find it disturbing to see such a rise in anti-intellectualism, as well as an increase in support for far right extremism. I think seeing more and more seemingly average people not only tolerate, but even align with the alt-right is a serious cause for concern. Up until now I’ve shied away from making political statements through Streets To Ourselves, but I know the 17 year old punk rock kid I used to be would punch me right in the face if all of this was happening and I wasn’t writing about it.”

Fun and catchy Pop-Punk is the best way to describe Toronto’s Streets To Ourselves. Founding member and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Peachy started the project as a solo endeavor, releasing an EP followed by a Full-Length album on his own. In 2022 he recorded the forthcoming sophomore album “The Truth Between Us” with acclaimed producer Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, Between You & Me, Intervals, Bearings). The album was mastered by Grammy nominated mastering engineer Mike Kalajian (All Time Low, Neck Deep, Hot Mulligan, New Found Glory, Thrice).
As was always the plan, Peachy has recently turned the former solo project into a full-fledged band, recruiting bassist Sean Tardo, drummer Jesse Formosa, and most recently guitarist Josh Jeffery. Taking influence from early 2000’s Pop-Punk as well as the more modern crop of bands from the genre, the upcoming new album from Streets To Ourselves is an authentic, energetic, and passionate record that they hope will have a positive effect on listeners. Wasting no time, the band has already begun writing the third Streets To Ourselves album and can’t wait to share everything they have in store, both online and on stage.
